I am Jalisa Keyes—professionally trained pharmacist, soul-rooted DJ, and the creative force behind Key Access.

 

For years, I followed the formula: school, career, credentials. But somewhere along the way, I realized I had become disconnected from myself, unsure of what truly interested me beyond the pharmacy. I had done everything that was supposed to lead to success—earned my doctorate, become a licensed pharmacist, built a stable career—but a part of me felt untethered. In following the prescription for success, I lost touch with the parts of myself that made me feel alive —music. That realization was both jarring and liberating.

 

I hadn’t realized just how deeply music had been woven into my life since childhood, or how it had quietly carried me through every high, low, and in-between. From singing along to all the songs at family gatherings to blasting personally created playlists, music was the constant rhythm guiding me. I just needed stillness and silence to finally hear the melody that had been playing in the background all my life.

 

Returning to music as a DJ wasn’t just a hobby—it was healing. It was a reminder that I’m allowed to feel, express, and create. My brand, Key Access, was born from that truth. It’s where my two paths converge—it’s truly Where Music & Medicine Meet.

 

By day I’m Dr. Keyes—the pharmacist who thrives on structure, chemistry, and precision; by night I’m DJ J. Keyes—the artist who revels in freedom, rhythm, and creativity. I blend these elements of myself with intention—prescribing curated mixes to shift moods, unlock memories, and create connection. To me, DJing isn’t about just playing songs; it’s about curating a feeling and creating a journey. I believe music can be just as effective as medicine, so each set I create is a dose of energy, empathy, and inspiration because this isn’t just entertainment—it’s presence. It’s a return to self.
